Our Cattle
All of our cattle are gentle creatures with a docile temperament and cause minimum damage to the grasslands where they perform excellently, producing beautifully marbled and succulent meat.
Our beef comes from our pedigree herd of Angus and Hereford cattle. These breeds are well known for its superior quality beef, suitability for grass feeding on hilly pastures as well as high yields through faster daily weight gain at less cost through efficient conversion of feed to muscle instead of fat, producing wonderfully succulent and tender meat.
ANGUS
The Angus breed is a distinctive breed developed in the 19th century. They are well-loved for consistently fine beef with an even fat coverage and perfect marbling makes the taste and texture rich, moist and succulent. Many herald it as the best beef in the world.
The breed is widely recognized globally, with several countries having their own specific Angus breeds.
HEREFORD
The Hereford breed of cattle have stood the test of time for well over 200 years. Herefords will lay down an even layer of fat on top of their naturally well-developed muscle which allows the finisher to select the ideal grade at which to slaughter.
Herefords can be successfully finished on grass alone and are renowned for their succulence and flavour and their unique ability to produce top quality beef naturally from grass.
